Osun sex worker vomits blood after being hit on the head with charms by ritualists

  Operatives of Osun Amotekun Corps have launched a manhunt after a sex worker living in Ofatedo, Osun State developed a strange illness and started vomiting blood after an encounter with some suspected ritualists at a hotel around West bypass, Osogbo.   The victim was dumped by some unknown men at the entrance to the street late on Friday December 24, almost unconscious. Field Commander, Osun Amotekun Corps, Mr.  Amitolu Shittu told journalists that when the operatives visited the scene, she was able to explain what transpired between her and three suspected ritualists, who had taken her from another hotel located in Ofatedo area. While still being interrogated, the lady suddenly started vomiting blood. Shittu said;    “I led the team that visited entrance to Adetunji Estate that evening. Catholic priest shot dead while returning from church service in Ogun

  A  38-year-old Reverend Father, Luke Adeleke was shot dead while returning from a church service on Christmas Eve in Ogun State.   Adeleke was accosted by gunmen while on his way to his Parish after celebrating Christmas Vigil Mass at an outstation church. He was reportedly killed at Ogunmakin in Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of the state. The state police spokesperson, Abimbola Oyeyemi who confirmed the incident said the gunmen exchanged gunfire with policemen in the area and escaped with bullet wounds. He said;  “It happened in Ogunmakin in the Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of the state on Friday. “Policemen engaged the gunmen in gunfire. Some of them escaped with bullets wounds.”

Robbers drop apology note after robbing a lady

  A Nigerian lady has shared photo of an apology note some robbers dropped after carting away her items.    @sisi_icream said the robbery incident took place while she was sleeping. She revealed that she woke up to her house being empty. She added that her phone wasn't taken because she kept it under her pillow.    The apology note the robbers left read "Am so sorry. More progress".   

Uche Nwosu was arrested and not kidnapped- Imo state police command clarifies

 The Imo state police command says contrary to earlier claims, former governorship candidate and son-in-law of ex-governor Rochas Okorocha, Uche Nwosu, was arrested and not abducted. A statement released by the spokesperson of the police command, CSP Michael Abattam, reads "This is to inform the general public that chief Uche Nwosu was not kidnapped but was arrested by the police and Imo state police command is aware of the arrest and presently he is in police custody. This is to refute the earlier news that has being making rounds on social media that he was kidnapped by unknown persons / gunmen. The Commissioner of Police while using this medium to assure imolites of the command's commitment in ensuring the safety of Life and prosperity this yuletide seasons , adviced the general public to always shun fake news." He however did not state why he was arrested.

Specialized Mobile Phone Thieves Arrested by police in kano

  Operatives of the Kano State Police Command have arrested syndicates of suspects that specialized in theft of mobile phones in the state.    Spokesperson of the command, DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, in a statement on Saturday, December 25, said that two tricycles and seventeen stolen mobile phones were recovered from the suspects.  In line with the directives of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Alkali Baba Usman, psc(+), NPM, fdc on Community-based policing, Operation Puff Adder, round the clock visibility patrols during this festive period and the Command’s efforts to rid Kano State of all forms of crimes and criminality, especially the menace of thuggery (Daba), Drug Abuse (Kwaya) and other social vices, the command arrested syndicates of suspects that specialized in theft of Mobile phones especially with the aid of Tricycles. Just in: Muslims worship with Christians at Kaduna Christmas service

  As part of efforts to strengthen religious tolerance and Christian-Muslim relationships, some Muslims joined Christian faithful at the Christ Evangelical and Life Intervention Ministry in Sabon Tasha in Kaduna state to celebrate their Christmas service on Saturday, December 25.   525 Muslims including members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), popularly known as Shiites, were present at the church. Abdullahi Rabo, district head of Kurmin-Mashi, and Ahmad Rabo, Tijjaniya Imam, also presented a gift to Yuhana Buru, general overseer of the church. Chief of Army Staff orders release of female soldier held over marriage proposal from youth corper

  The Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Faruk Yahaya, has ordered the immediate release of a female soldier, Pte. Hannah Sofiat, who was detained for accepting a marriage proposal from a male corps member at the National Youth Service Corps Orientation Camp in Yikpata, Kwara few weeks ago.   Sources in the Nigerian Army said the Army Chief called for her release in the spirit of Christmas. Sofiat had earlier been detained for violating military rules and regulations by getting involved in a public display of an amorous relationship with a paramilitary trainee, a corps member. She was detained after video clips where she was seen accepting a marriage proposal from a male corps member at the NYSC orientation camp in Kwara, which went viral on social media. Several groups and individuals had called on the Nigerian Army to release the female soldier.

  A man who was found unconscious in a hotel room in Port Harcourt, Rivers state, has narrated how a yet to be identified woman allegedly raped him and stole his valuables. In an interview with human rights group, Centre for Basic Rights Protection And Accountability Campaign, the Akwa Ibom indigene claimed that the unknown woman used mysterious substance to lure him to the hotel from where he was selling. Police rescue baby and two adults abducted by bandits in Zamfara

  The police have rescued three persons including a three-month-old baby who were abducted by bandits in Zamfara State.   Commissioner of Police in the state, Ayuba Elkanah said the victims were abducted from Ruggar Tudu village in Bungudu Local Government Area of Zamfara. Elkanah also revealed that police operatives arrested three suppliers of hard drugs to bandits, and recovered some items from bandits. They include one motorcycle, eight AK-47 rifles, one General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG), one Rocket launcher, and five magazines. Giving an update on the activities of the police in the last four months, the police commissioner said the State Police Command has recorded tremendous successes in the ongoing war against banditry, kidnapping, cattle rustling, and other crimes in Zamfara. He added that police operatives also recovered 69 cows from bandits in the last four months.

Woman Arrested For Starving Five-Month-Old Baby To Death (Photos)

  The police have arrested a woman identified as Tina Ogbonnaya for allegedly starving a five-month-old baby to death. Mrs Ogbonnaya reportedly seized the baby from her 19-year-old maid over an unpaid debt. According to Harrison Gwamnishu, the founder of Behind Bar Rights Initiative (BBI), Mrs Ogbonnaya’s maid, Tina, reported that she was unable to pay back a sum of N200,000, which her boss paid as hospital bills when she was delivered of the baby. Tina reported that after the delivery, Mrs Ogbonnaya was maltreating her and she decided to leave the house, but her madam insisted that she could not leave until she pays the debt. She told BBI that Mrs Ogbonnaya seized her baby, Chidubem, from her and pushed her out of the house. Attempts to recover the baby failed as he was held by Mrs Ogbonnaya for over a month, without feeding. Man arraigned for allegedly posting RIP on girlfriend’s picture on social media

  A 33-year-old man Oyebode Odewale was on Thursday, December 16, arraigned before an Ile-Ife Magistrates’ Court for allegedly writing RIP on his girlfriend, Ademola Omolade’s picture on social media on December 13.   The police charged Odewale with two counts of breach of peace and threat to life.   Prosecution Counsel Insp Sunday Osanyintuyi told the court that Oyebode committed the offence on December 13 around 11:30 pm at Eleyele Street, Ile-Ife. Mr. Osanyintuyi said that the defendant conducted himself in a manner that caused a breach of public peace by posting RIP on Ademola Omolade’s social media data page. He also claimed that the defendant threatened to kill Omolade because she refused to marry him.
